Putting On the Armor of God

New book out on Amazon Putting On the Armor of God.

When we live in the Truth of God and his will, we are surrounded by abundant love.

We are given the tools such as: The Belt of Truth or The Shield of Faith, to stand strong against the evil forces and lies.

In Ephesians 6:10-18 we prepare ourselves for the battle from the words of St. Paul to the Ephesians.

Putting On the Armor of God is a great book for families to read together. Alongside with The Bible, parents can discuss each tool and what it means to them. The back of the book gives activities to incorporate each tool. You can even add your own fun ways to reinforce the Armor of God.

Great book for Bible study and PRE classes.

Saying goodnight

by Marti Genge

Right now is the best time to get back into your routine of saying prayers as a family before bed. Inspired by today’s sermon by our local pastor Fr. John at the children’s mass, I thought back to when my kids were little. The routine was solid and our kids knew prayers meant bedtime. We prayed for each other, family, and friends. In fact to this day I can recite my night prayer from when I was little. Fr. John’s father always said ‘a family that prays together stays together.’ Life is so busy nowadays, which is all the more reason to at least take this time for a prayer and goodnight kisses.  Have your kids help you create the family prayer and who they want to pray for.
The easiest beginning can be Now I lay me down to sleep. After prayer I found this was a great time to check with my kids on any issues they wanted to talk about. When my kids were younger, I used a puppet to ask questions. You will be amazed at how quick they open up. Encourage them to pray on their own if your time doesn’t permit it nightly.

So, tonight when I say my prayers I will include you and your family. Sweet dreams and God Bless
